If Love Had a Voice

 If love had a voice to speak, 
 It wouldn’t need to be so meek. 
 It wouldn’t hide behind a smile, 
 Or wait so long to show its style. 

 It would sing in morning light, 
 And hold us close through every night. 
 No need for words that fade away, 
 Love’s voice would always choose to stay. 

 It wouldn’t fear a broken heart, 
 Or hide when we are far apart. 
 It would shout with hope so bright, 
 And turn the dark to softest light. 

 If love had a voice, so clear and true, 
 It would say, “I am here for you.”
