Arman Rashid
Your arms held me one final time,
warmth and sorrow mingling in that space.
I felt every heartbeat, every unspoken word,
and the weight of what we were losing.
The wind whispered through the open door,
carrying the scent of things we shared.
I wanted to hold on longer,
but time had other plans for us.
Your eyes searched mine for answers,
for promises we could not make.
I traced the lines of your face in memory,
knowing it would be my last chance.
The world seemed to pause around us,
even as it moved forward without care.
I pressed my cheek against yours,
catching every trace of your warmth.
Every second stretched and then broke,
and I felt the inevitability of the goodbye.
We parted with silence between us,
a quiet I could never forget.
And as I walked away, I realized:
some hugs stay in the heart long after we let go.
